I hope this high-low fashion designer collaboration trend never goes away. The Jason Wu collection for Target looks very feminine with lots of mesh and florals for the modern fashion girl. The collection will be available online from February 5, and is said to be more affordable with the price range of $19.99 - $59.99; how's that for kick ass fashion. After practice for a show, I went skating with some friends at the Rockefeller Ice Rink. It was a lot of fun, falling, hanging out, making video's dancing on ice. Also, got myself some good ol' Jack Daniels burger from TGI Fridays-- perfect end to a good day.

Favorite Outfits from 2011

2011- It wasn't the best year, yet it wasn't the worst year, so I can't complain. I learned, shared amazing moments with people, felt stressed out, and got frustrated a tad lot. Most importantly, I lived, and blogged hehe. So shout out to those amazing moments, including the frustrating ones that made my year worth it, and the people. A big thank you to everyone for reading my daily rants, stories, and visiting the blog. I'm pretty sure we are just happy to be alive regardless.

2012- I hope the best of my 2011 becomes the worst of my 2012, and I wish you the same. I have no resolutions (I don't roll like that; G stats lol). Just going to take each day as it comes and see what happens. 2012 is going to be an awesome year (amen).

To Be or Not To Be?

-- Pondering what part of my broad major (Broadcasting, Telecommunications and Mass Media) I want to focus on gets me puzzled more often than not. It is not because I do not know what I want to do but because, I want to do it all. I love my major a lot and I can't imagine being in any other field. I started off listing the things I want to, or can be with my major, and tick off the ones I'm most interested in... Still pretty broad right?

Anyway on a random day, my friend messaged me "radio or television?"
"Hmm..." I thought. I finally answered "I want to get experience in radio, but I'll rather do TV. I would only do radio full-time if I have to anchor the news."

While watching Neil Harris live the character of Barney Stinson, a similar thought came to mind; modeling or acting?
I love fashion (style) more than anything. I want to be a mannequin, play dress up, become the art. "This is probably the same as acting," I said, only you get to play different roles, verbally, physically, and mentally. You also get to play dress up in a more relaxed environment. I remembered playing voice-overs while telling stories with my little cousins, and singing Christmas songs earlier.
Then, the shocking hit me... I might want to be an actress more than anything else.

I roll over thinking-- what difference? "Everyone wants to be a model, everyone wants to be an actress. I've still got a long way to happy." But you know what? I won't trade it for a 9-5pm job, it just isn't me. I was born to be free. I want a job where I can dance with my co-workers during work hours. One where I meet awesome people, and play different exciting roles everyday. Most importantly, one where I can express myself in both my dressing, and my art.

So, to be or not to be? That is the question. I guess only time will tell. Never say never.

Musing's From The Not So Freeway

While riding around the city, the sister and I got into mad traffic. It also didn't help that we were already late; then again... we weren't surprised when we saw the endless row of cars with their backlights shining bright. I leaned back and thought "Isn't it ironic?" I remembered that one similar line from Alan Morissette's song "a traffic jam when you're already late," as I took a swing out of my water bottle. Life is funny, predictable; yet unpredictable. And then It occurred to me-- God has the most fun. He knows it it all, things that will happen, hopes that will never come true, and wishes that would get close to coming true. He stays up in the sky, and sits on what I call "the universe chair." It is a swirly wheeled chair that allows him to swing left and right as he amuses himself with us earthlings from above.
Since He knows it all, watching us react to whatever he throws our way while sipping some heavenly cherryade is what makes His job fun. He has no worries, he is just people watching.

In other words, never get boring. If you do you just might get axed. And that my friends, is something worth thinking about.

What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, even more than Christmas. It is the only time my family sits together at a table to eat and chat while stuffing our faces with endless rounds of turkey, dessert, wine, and so on. I love the feeling I get during thanksgiving even if its for a day. I am thankful to the Big Guy up in the skies for every single blessing in my life, including the little ones like being able to move my pinky toe, or having nice eyebrows lol. I am thankful for family, friends, and friends who are family; I am grateful for each one of you. I am also thankful for you-- everyone who reads my blog, passes through and what not.

Yesterday, I got a weave. Yes, I finally summoned the courage to get one. I usually don't attach anything to my hair, just cause *bee shrug* Anyhoo, shout out to everyone I bugged with questions about weaves (its not over, I need tips maintaining it :D) and to Frances for weaving it in, she did an awesome job.

I've definitely played Katherine McPhee's 'It's Not Christmas Without You' over 10 times in a row this morning. I feel sad yet elated in some weird way by this song. It makes me wish I had a softer side/ someone to pour mushy but true emotions on. I'm also thinking about the holidays, the snow, Christmas day; its crazy, it seems like just yesterday when 2011 started. Short Story: Midnight

It was October 30th, just before Halloween.
The nights were dark, and there was not a soul in sight.
Just the wind hitting the windows hard.
Silent and cold,
My neighbors German Shepard barked non-stop across my house.
I turn, "Why won't this dog shut up, ugggh"
I see a shadow fly by fast. I close my eyes and open it.
It was no hallucination, the shadow floated in front of my window.
Almost like it knew I was starring.
The coldest breeze flowed in. I prayed with all my heart it was blind.
"I need to close this window"
I close my eyes again, and open it to nothing. It wasn't there anymore. Was it ever there?
Whatever the case I should get up and close this window, I thought.
I make a move trying to be bold but my shaking legs wouldn't budge.
I sit up, still as a bud.
Now the trees are moving,
I see a shadow creeping behind the clouds, this time in a white overall.
Thunder strikes,
The barks get louder
Thunder strikes again,
Darkness covers the sky and the lights go out.
Now I'm trembling, I really want to get up,
I brace myself, I tell myself I am brave, 'its all just a scary coincidence' I say.
Mother starts calling...
I hear footsteps but they don't belong to my mother,
Tap tap tap, quick as a mice the sounds feel
My phone vibrates, right before the alarm goes off; its 11:58pm
I hear a scream then a thud
I scream, and open my eyes, I am up.
I take a deep breath, it was just a dream. I reach over for the glass of water beside my bed.
Suddenly *bang bang*
Heart in my mouth,
I drop the glass as quietly as I can
I'm still dreaming, I have to be,
Sweat trickles down my spine,
I see blood flowing underneath my door.
I scream, this time for real.
The clock on my dressing table chimes,
'It is 12 o'clock,' 'it is 12 o'clock'
'Hallloween' I manage to mutter,
My door unlocks....

P.S- I grew up thinking 90% of people watched 'Nightmare Before Christmas' when they were kids; boy was I wrong x_x If you haven't watched it before, what are you waiting for? You'll love it. :)

P.ps- 'Nightmare Before Christmas needs to be made into a broadway show.

I haven't posted a random rant in a while so here it goes.
I think my writing has been a little dull these days, sort of like the life has been taken out of it.. hmm. I apologize if you've noticed. I'm just a tad tired these days (not an excuse of course), trying to fit my whole life together in about 3 months. But.

(Lol there's always a but) this is the most boring I'll get. I promise :) and if you haven't noticed anything.. *flicks hair* Whaddup? Lol.

P.S- I hereby solemnly swear to use the word awesome less, and find another equally exciting replacement; when I do you'll be the first to know (run-on sentence? I can't quite figure)

And finally, yaaay! Its Halloween weekend. What are my lovies dressing up as?
I've narrowed my costume to a Greek goddess (obsession, plus my long legs ;) and my version of a ruddy young adult, think Riri's 'We Found Love' and 'Skins.'
